From Last Night: No Flex Zone, TV on the Radio and more

Performing tracks off their new collaborative album, BADBADNOTGOOD and Ghostface Killah performed a 30 minute set at the Empire Control Room last night. The first few songs were new, followed by several older hits including some ODB.

Also performing last night, was the explosively popular Rae Sremmurd. Jason, our man on the ground in Austin, said their set was "all business. Those kids came out and dropped their set like it was well rehearsed. They started with "No Flex Zone" first and then ended "Got No Type"

Jason then went over to Stubbs to catch TV on the Radio. He caught the end of their set and thought they sounded tired. Even though the band were playing live drums and guitar, it got him thinking about how entertaining TVOTR's performance was compared to Rae Sremmurd, who used a back track and basically rapped over their own tracks. He said the Rae Sremmurd performance was intense and the energy inescapable, as opposed to TVOTR's cerebral-"I appreciate this because I understand blah blah, i love the recordings blah blah" type of performance..
