LA's Holy Child will be stopping by 502 Bar on March 15. After the near overnight success of their song "Happy With Me", Holy Child was named one of Billboard's "Top 14 Bands to Watch in 2014 and was one of the most listened to (and thus blogged about) songs on HypeMachine receiving over 100,000 plays in a week. They will be bringing their electro-pop/ pop-rock jams to San Antonio 2 nights before the music portion of SXSW "starts". Also, take a look at San Antonio's Spillover Schedule.
Another SXSW SPILLOVER announcement, is by K23 Gallery. The Zig Zags (who are surprisingly not named after the rolling papers) are stopping by San Antonio Saturday March 21. They did a decent interview on Noisey where I learned they recorded a Betty White cover with Iggy Pop before they even had a record! That's nuts. This song "So Stoned" is a garagey-psychedelic jam that has moments of the Eagles of Death Metal with guitar soloing lost in a blur of distortion. Should be a fun night.
