I say "Big Music Weekend" in the context of all that is happening in San Antonio. The current city wide boom is having an effect on San Antonio's music business like never before. There has been unprecedented demand for live entertainment in the last several years and San Antonio is stepping it up across the board. Investments are being made in various venues, more non-venue establishments have begun hosting live music, and promoters like House of Blues, ScoreMore, and now Transmission are betting San Antonio music lovers will turn out. The current boom helps bring San Antonio to the attention of those creating tour schedules. Now they will allow time for artists to swing through SA, there are major cities on the east coast that are closer to each other than major TX cities yet, bands will hit up all major east coast cities but not in TX. This is changing.

Burger Hangover 3 kicks off this Sunday at the Korova and will bring Thee Oh Sees, Jeff the Brotherhood, Diarrhea Planet and a ton of other bands. This show is also making headlines and rightly so, these are top billed bands and create headlines on their own. I keep hearing people say this is the best SXSW Spillover in San Antonio in years, and we have to agree, March 2015 may be one of the best months of music in town in years.
