TenEleven Sold to New Owners

This morning, the trio of owners of the small downtown music venue the TenEleven announced it's sale. After eight years on Avenue B, Jordan Williams, Colin Wells, and Brandon Hicks will part ways with TenEleven officially on April 3 and will hand the keys over to Michael Carrillo of Deer Vibes and Michael J and the Foxes. This is their message to San Antonio's music scene they posted to Facebook:

To the local music community in San Antonio,

After eight years, we’re excited to announce some very significant changes at The Ten Eleven. While we have worked hard to provide the type of place that musicians and customers would enjoy, we recognize that we have probably achieved all that we are capable of at this time. After much deliberation, we have decided that it is best for the three of us to depart to make way for new ownership with new ideas. As of April 3rd, The Ten Eleven will officially close its doors.

Eight years is quite a long time. When the club opened, it was difficult to consider things like families, wives, kids, mortgages...adult things. We were basically still kids ourselves. Now, we have all of those things and it’s become increasingly difficult to balance all of that while still operating a successful music venue. Right now is the best time for someone new to come in with fresh ideas, so that they can take what we have built and make it even better. Michael Carrillo will be operating a new business at 1011 Ave B, and while the name will be different, we believe he will continue to provide an excellent place for musicians and patrons to enjoy.

The Ten Eleven has been an incredible experience for us, and none of it would have been possible without the help of countless bands and promoters over the years. We’re happy to have been able to provide an experience that so many enjoyed. We would especially like to thank, not only Michael, but Tony Chainsaw as well. The two of them have enabled us to do what we never thought was possible when we opened.

So, in closing, we want to just say, “Thank you.” All of you. If you are reading this, you are part of The Ten Eleven family. Whether you are a musician or a guest, we couldn’t have done any of this without you. We truly appreciate all of the help we have received over the years from our friends and loved ones. Every single musician that walked through our doors made a difference. The Ten Eleven belongs to you as much as it belongs to us. Thank you.

Jordan Williams, Colin Wells, and Brandon Hicks
