Music News Round Up

There were some big announcements today, Texas music news that made it into national headlines again. First, was the announcement of President Obama and the First Lady Michelle providing keynote addresses at SXSW in addition to the DNC fundraiser taking place at the Austin Music Hall with J Cole.

The big music news out of San Antonio today was the release of the full Maverick Music Festival lineup and the announcement of a list of official parties leading up to the festival.

Switching gears back to SXSW, it appears that DAFT PUNK will be making an appearance after all to the 2016 music conference with an appearance at the Capitol Building. We've had confirmation from at least one source, we are waiting for further confirmation, but after the hype in 2013, skepticism is expected.  Fader Fort sent out their non-transferable invites and while the lineup went live just yesterday.. Pitchfork released their SXSW lineup of parties, so did the BBC and Mom And Pop Music
