Call for Bizarre Bazaar Vendors
Maverick Music Festival is seeking vendors to create an alternative, hip shopping experience for attendees of the festival. The concept is an open air market that will run as a part of Maverick Music Festival, San Antonio’s only indie live music alternative. Selected vendors will have space within the festival footprint to sell their goods during the festival.
The market is inspired by outdoor world markets and vendors are encouraged to set up creative displays for their goods rather than using a traditional festival booth set up. We are seeking vendors with goods that will appeal to an indie and rock audience. We are also looking for vendors who will be creative with their setup. Carpets on the ground, tapestries for backdrops, anything that will enhance the world market feel of the area.
Ideal vendors for this area might include:
• Vinyl records
• Vintage clothing
• Creative and handcrafted goods
• Musical instruments
• Concert Posters
• Prints and art vendors
Nathan Felix is a self taught composer who is expanding the performance space in experimental ways. Earlier this year, Felix introduced San Antonio to a concept performance utilizing 6 pianos in non traditional concert space. Beginning this Friday at Hotel Emma, Felix will bring his new 30-piece choir collective, From Those Who Follow the Echoes, as part of a new series of immersive musical experiences on November 11 th (7:30 pm) at the Sternewirth Bar in Hotel Emma (136 E Grayson St).
This event will showcase over 20 choir singers accompanied by a string section. The ensemble will utilize the unique spaces inside the Sternewirth bar at Hotel Emma as the singers and musicians will strategically disperse above the bar and perhaps even amongst Hotel Emma patrons. Felix conceived this immersive idea wanting to promote unity in the San Antonio community by hosting concerts in public spaces where the audience and performers are essentially one collective group of people united by the power of music at that particular moment in time. After the show at Hotel Emma, the choir will load up in a bus donated by The Renewable Republic and drive to a secret public location for an impromptu performance.
